Propuesta de traducción inédita del ensayo "Girlhood", de Melissa Febos

Abstract

Este trabajo de fin de máster presenta el ensayo autobiográfico Girlhood, de Melissa Febos, y ofrece una propuesta de traducción justificada. A partir del análisis de la autora y la obra, se procederá a la traducción inédita en castellano del capítulo «The Mirror Test», y se estudiarán cinco aspectos clave presentes en el fragmento: el vocabulario sexista, las expresiones idiomáticas, los elementos culturales, los tecnicismos y la intertextualidad y polifonía. El objetivo de este trabajo es encontrar una solución para resolver todos estos aspectos y justificar las decisiones y el enfoque que se ha tomado.This master’s thesis presents Melissa Febos’ memoir Girlhood, and offers a justified translation proposal. Based on the analysis of the author and the work, we will proceed to present the unpublished Spanish translation of the chapter “The Mirror Test”, and we will study five key aspects that appear on this extract: sexist language, idiomatic expressions, cultural elements, technicalities and intertextuality and polyphony. This paper aims to find a solution to solve all these aspects and to justify the decisions and approach taken to do so.
