  • Resum

This work is a translation of two episodes of Black Mirror (the 1x02 and the 2x01), a fantastic series created by Charlie Brooker. The series has been translated into Spanish but never into Catalan, so this very first version. One of the main objectives of this translation is to reproduce the colloquial language of the original version and make it sound natural. In addition to the translation of two scripts, it includes an analysis of the decisions made during the translation, when the proposals of the Catalan audio-visual language regulatory body (CCMA) have been followed and when it has been decided to use a transgressive language that is appropriate to the context. The process is based on the perception that English is a freer language when using pretend orality than in the case of Catalan and also, on the decisions that the translator must make in order to reproduce spontaneity. The greatest difficulty is to find the balance between what sounds natural and what is part of the normative framework, and for this purpose it is vital to understand the linguistic context of translation. It is to show that the series in Catalan can sound natural, not only those originally in Catalan, but that it is also possible to achieve this when it comes to translation.
