Abstract
Due to the importance of Spanish language around the world, this paper tries to raise awareness of the difficulties and problems that students can have while learning a second language and how to get them interested in the process. The main idea of this paper is to show teachers that there are a variety of different methods or techniques of teaching which go beyond the traditional ones which that they could be useful and more productive for the students. The method compared in this text shows that grammar is not the base of learning a language, however, vocabulary represents an essential part that helps the student to acquire the structure and basis of the language in a much more efficient manner. The traditional process will leave the student demotivated and bored as their progress is slow and not visible, therefore the teacher should take this into account and try to make learning as fun and as interesting as possible. In addition to offering a way to put this second method into practice, after comparing them, this paper will provide a glossary with the main words in the Spanish language, in order of topic and morphological category, so as to help the teachers to prepare their lessons in an effective manner and as a result the student will learn much quicker and will acquire the target language easier. The glossary is based on Ramón Campayo’s system, which includes substantives, as well as verbs, adjectives, adverbs pronouns, conjunctions, and prepositions which all prove to be extremely essential for a student of level A1-A2. In addition to this, the text puts forward a different way of teaching grammar, which focuses primarily on the ability of the student rather than language itself. The main objective is to learn fast, efficiently, easy and in fun way. Finally, this paper will give teachers and students a deeper insight into how they can make a difference in the study of languages as well as sparking a love for the Spanish language in learners making them see the fascinating side the language rather than its difficulties.Description
