El Universo que se añade al universo, un apunte sobre el cine de Johan Van der Keuken

Abstract

Estudio breve sobre el fuera de campo y la reflexividad en el cine de Johan Van der Keuken. Se presenta la hipótesis de que el cuerpo del cineasta, aunque permanece habitualmente detrás de la cámara, trasciende al plano en el movimiento de la misma, en las relaciones con los personajes que retrata y a través del sonido de su voz y su respiración. Este aparecer sin aparecer del todo crea una tensión entre el cuerpo y la imagen que se reitera en forma de reflexividad, de comentario sobre el límite de la película, y se demuestra un eje central en su obra.Short study on the use of the out of field and the reflexivity in Johan Van der Keuken's cinema. We present the hypothesis that the filmmaker's body, while remaining behind the camera, transcends the plane in the movement of the picture, in the relationships established with the characters he portrays and through the sound of his voice and his breathing. The fact of being present without appearing in a clear way, creates a tension between the body and the image. Moreover, as this tension gets strengthened by the most reflexive parts of his films, in the comment on the film's limits, we learn how the relationship between body and image is actually a central axis of his work.
