Planificació lingüística per a la incorporació del català a/nl’empresa. Comparació entre les accions de Govern i/nl’activisme lingüístic

Abstract

A partir de les teories més significatives sobre política i planificació lingüístiques, es comparen les accions dutes a terme per la Generalitat de Catalunya i el grup activista Plataforma per la Llengua per tal d’incorporar i normalitzar l’ús del català en el món socioeconòmic.Language conflicts of any kind are very common in multilingual societies and it is very/nimportant to solve them in order to prevent social consequences to happen. In the/nparticular case of Catalonia, where any public use of Catalan was forbidden during the/ndictatorship, still now, after 30 years, there is the need to promote language policies to/nreestablish the normalization of this language. One of the areas where there are still/nstrong language lacks is the business world./nThis paper aims to compare the language management strategies promoted by the/nCatalan Government and the language activist association Plataforma per la Llengua./nThe emphasis will be put in the kind of strategies and their effectiveness in the business/nworld. As a conclusion, we will see the progresses done thanks to this language/nmanagement, and which are the next to be followed in order to improve the situation of/nCatalan in such a globalized and multilingual field as business is.
