In our project, we want to present, firstly from a gnoseological point of view, the impossibility of a unified sports science. Therefore, it won’t be able to be defined from any of the particular sciences through which is being studied. For that it will be necessary to use several of these sciences. It seems obvious then, that it should be a philosophical task. That is the propose of this article. Secondly, from an ontological point of view, we propose some characteristics that any sport definition should have. But as every definition, it has to include the essence of the definiendum, however, as this idea has been changing through time, we cannot give a fixist definition of it. That is why we will try to determinate which one is its generating nucleus (games), its constitutive body (institutionalization) and its course (events).

This paper analyzes the flow experience in different sports, specially in three scopes: tennis, running and body-building. These sports are analyzed from a personal approach, that is, in first person. Likewise, we use the ‘flow’ concept from Mihaly Csikzentmihalyi’s thought to approach flow status in those sports. One of the ‘flow’ characteristics is the continued enjoyment of the individual in practice. In the same way, It is essential the reinforcement of his personality. Then, this individual is a more complex identity, opened to the learning of new stimuli and challenges. The experience improves the quality of life of the individual.
