- dc.description.abstract This article provides a scoping review of the literature on slut-shaming and gender-based cyberbullying on social media, aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding of the research in this area. The review covers articles published between 2013 and 2022. This article first provides a definition of slut-shaming and its brief history, then outlines the search methods used to identify relevant studies and presents the results of the scoping review. The results show that slut-shaming and gender-based cyberbullying on social media is a widespread and harmful phenomenon, and that the frequent occurrence of slut-shaming on social media is mainly due to the existence of sexual double standards and gender inequality perceptions, as well as the unregulated and anonymous nature of social media. Moreover, the review reveals the groups of women who are easy targets for slut-shaming on social media, the impact of slut-shaming and possible solutions.ca
