Anàlisi de la comunicació i el periodisme biomèdics: Estudi dels processos divulgatius, els dèficits formatius i l'impacte de la Covid-19

Abstract

La comunicació científica ha evolucionat molt durant els darrers anys. L’interès dels científics i periodistes per divulgar ha augmentat, i el de la societat de rebre informació científica també. Tot i això, hi continuen havent problemes per fer arribar la ciència a la població general correctament. En aquesta tesi s’analitza la situació actual de la divulgació científica, concretament la biomèdica, i es busquen formes de millorar-la. En veure’s completament immersa en la pandèmia de la Covid-19, s’ha enfocat la investigació en la comunicació biomèdica de crisi i com aquesta ha canviat arran del sorgiment de la malaltia. A través d’entrevistes i enquestes a professionals de la comunicació biomèdica i a estudiants de biomedicina es desvetllen diversos resultats interessants: la necessitat d’invertir més fons públics en divulgació científica, el desig dels futurs investigadors biomèdics de rebre més formació en comunicació i la importància de la bidireccionalitat de la informació científica.Scientific communication has evolved a lot in recent years. The interest of scientists and journalists in disseminating information has increased, as has the interest of the society in receiving scientific information. However, there are still problems in getting science to the general population correctly. This thesis analyzes the current situation of scientific dissemination,specifically the biomedical one, and seeks waysto improve it. Seeing itself completely immersed in the Covid-19 pandemic, research has focused on crisis biomedical communication and how it has changed as a result of the onset of the disease. Through interviews and surveys of biomedical communication professionals and biomedical students, several interesting results are revealed: the need to invest more public funds in scientific dissemination, the desire of future biomedical researchers to receive more training in communication and the importance of the bidirectionality of scientific information.Programa de doctorat en Comunicació
