Abstract

Bipolar disorder, formerly called manic depression, is a mental health condition characterized by extreme mood swings that can range from extreme highs (mania) to extreme lows (depression). The purpose of this study is to carry out a genetic and functional in silico characterization of bipolar disorder (BD) and 2 of its sub-types (BD1 and BD2). Thus, the pathogenesis of BD and its sub-types will be explored at a genetic level, at a biological pathway level and at the cellular level.
