Genetic diversity límits of a marine microbiome

Abstract

L’objectiu d’aquest projecte és trobar els límits de diversitat genètica d’un microbioma marí, per assolir l’objectiu utilitzarem un total de 50 metagenomes obtinguts del mateix microbioma. El tema principal s’estudiarà mitjançant mètodes estadístics i, per assolir l’objectiu, també compararem com els diferents mètodes d’obtenció de mostres, filtres i volum d’aigua poden afectar la diversitat i també si els mètodes bioinformàtics aplicats als metagenomes condueixen a conclusions diferents.El objetivo de este proyecto es encontrar los límites de diversidad genética de un microbioma marino, para alcanzar el objetivo utilizaremos un total de 50 metagenomas obtenidos de un mismo microbioma. El tema principal se estudiará mediante métodos estadísticos y, para lograr el objetivo, también compararemos cómo los diferentes métodos de obtención de muestras, filtros y volumen de agua pueden afectar la diversidad y también si los métodos bioinformáticos aplicados a los metagenomas llevan a conclusiones diferentes.The aim of this project is to find the genetic diversity limits of a marine microbiome, to reach the objective we will use a total of 50 metagenomes obtained from the same microbiome. The main topic will be approached using statistical methods and, to accomplish the goal, we will also compare how the different sample obtention methods, filters, and water volume, can affect the diversity and if the bioinformatic methods applied to the metagenomes lead to different conclusions.
