dc.description.abstract The purpose of this paper is to show how by creating safe and legal pathways for asylum seekers to reach the European territory, the EU would commit with the protection of both, asylum seekers and women’s rights. The analysis from a gender perspective of the current obstacles and risks that asylum seekers tackle to access in “The fortress of Europe” would prove the need for legal channels of entry given its tight relation with gender-based violation of rights.
