dc.description.abstract Circulating microparticles (cMPs) are phospholipid-rich blebs of 0.1–1.0 μm in size shed from the plasma membrane of eukaryotic cells when injured, activated, or undergoing apoptosis. MPs have been shown to reflect cellular activation and/or tissue degeneration occurring in vivo.
