Abstract

Given the technological advances of recent decades and the development of disruptive business models have given rise to a new type of tech startups: the Born-Global-Digital firm. These are born with a global vision and rapidly expand to international markets. This study has conducted an extensive literature review to determine several strategic dimensions, as well as a comparative analysis of six BGD cases based in Barcelona by interviewing their founders and executives. The result has been the identification of several Key Sucess Factors and Best Practices, in addition to other strategic implications that may be of interest to future tech startups willing to internationalise.
