  • Resum

Consuming diets that are rich in fats can potentially have negative effects on one's overall health. In order to study deeper into the impact on cardiovascular health, a series of experiments were carried out on daphnias, a type of aquatic organism. The main focus of these experiments was to examine the heart rates of these organisms and determine their chances of survival when exposed to varying levels of fat in their diets. By analyzing two indicators, mortality and heart rate, it becomes evident that NAC exhibits a safeguarding influence in contrast to a diet rich in fats. The hypothesis proposed that daphnias, when subjected to diets high in fat, would encounter an elevated heart rate, which could be counteracted by the administration of NAC, was demonstrated to be correct. Moreover, the mortality of daphnias subjected to high fat diet was as well reversed by this antioxidant, underlying the role of oxidation as a pathogenic mechanism. This scientific investigation followed the established hypothetical deductive method, in which a meta-analysis was conducted to investigate and further consolidate our knowledge.
