| dc.description.abstract | En la segunda mitad del siglo xix, la ausencia de una presencia estatal efectiva en el Chacoboliviano propició el surgimiento de poderes locales —colonos criollos, misioneros franciscanos—que compitieron ferozmente entre sí para conquistar, colonizar y «civilizar» a losindígenas. A través de las trayectorias emblemáticas de cuatro colonos del frente pionerochaqueño, el artículo quiere ilustrar las relaciones ambiguas y cambiantes que mantuvieronlos diversos agentes de la colonización entre ellos y, en menor medida, con los indígenas. | |
