Abstract

This project aims at creating a sensor testbed that can be continued and supported/nby a community. The sensors gather environmental data and are connected to a/ncommunity network. It gives the community a trace to improve their environmental/nconscience, giving them the necessary information to know the state of their/nsurroundings and act accordingly. This way anybody can act consequently if the/nsensors detect harmful situations, for example, not going to a park where the gas/nsensor detects bad air quality./nThe sensor data is uploaded to a data broker developed by the University,/nwhich makes the data available to third-party applications. A mobile application/nthat connects to the data broker has been programmed. This application offers an/nintuitive and meaningful visualization of sensor’s data, tailoring its presentation/nto people without specific scientific knowledge.
