In this project a virtual reality tool was developed in unity to visualize 3D medical images which allows to interact with them just by using the hands. To achieve this, a hardware device called LEAP motion was used and then combined with the HTC vive virtual reality system. This gives much liberty to the user as there are no controllers involved and the interaction has been kept simple and user friendly. The application was designed so that it can be upgraded and customized according to the type of user and the medical area where it will be used. The project was based on a 3D model of the brain used during the planning of epilepsy surgeries. This was chosen as it has many different elements involved and therefore a great way to show the potential of the application. The application allows the user to move the objects around, play with transparency, crop the objects and hide them or display them. It is a tool that can be used for different purposes like discussing matters with other experts, planning operations, teaching or even in certain cases during surgeries as it can be used without touching during the procedure.application/pdfengAtribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadas 3.0 EspañaVirtual reality tool to interact with 3D medical imagesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisVirtual reality (VR)DICOMinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess
