Abstract

In recent years video games popularity has noticeably increased and has reached the mass audiences. The videogame industry has surpassed other audiovisual entertainment industries when it comes to revenue volume. For example, the cinematographic and musical industry. Due to this increase, the video game industry has evolved and expanded to new audiences and new possibilities. The video game sector is in a process of constant innovation. Therefore, new ways to target and appeal the potential players have appeared. Alongside the evolution and progress of videogames itself, new marketing techniques are developed. These new techniques may vary depending on the size of the company, the type of video game and the targeted audiences. For this reason, I will try to analyze and discover which are the different marketing approaches executed nowadays, and which are the most adequate processes depending on the variables recently mentioned.
