El rol i satisfacció dels funcionaris de vigilància als mòduls de participació i convivència dels centres penitenciaris catalans

Abstract

La manera en que es gestionen els Centres Penitenciaris és una qüestió clau que pateix constant evolució i que és rellevant quant als efectes criminològics i sociològics de la presó. L’objectiu d’aquest treball és conèixer la tasca dels funcionaris d’interior als Mòduls de Participació i Convivència, i confirmar o refutar l’afirmació que aquests professionals estan més satisfets amb la seva feina i treballen més a gust pel clima social que existeix a aquests mòduls. Per tal d’assolir aquests dos objectius, en primer terme s'ha realitzat una revisió bibliogràfica per tal de conèixer el recolzament teòric d’aquest àmbit de recerca i, posteriorment, s'han realitzat entrevistes a professionals de l’àrea. Les principals conclusions que s’extreuen és que als funcionaris d’interior dels Mòduls de Participació i Convivència, a més de les seves funcions purament regimentals, se’ls sumen altres relacionades amb les dinàmiques i funcionament propi del mòdul tals com la participació a les comissions i una major relació amb els interns. Quant a la hipòtesi, es confirma que, per la manera en que es gestiona un Mòdul de Participació i Convivència, es genera un ambient en que els funcionaris hi treballen més a gust i la seva feina els satisfà més. Això és rellevant quant a la qualitat de la seva feina i el que poden oferir als interns.

The way in which prisons are managed is a key issue that is constantly evolving and is relevant to the criminological and sociological effects of prison. The aim of this study is to find out about the work of prison officers in the Participation and Coexistence Modules, and to confirm or refute the assertion that these professionals are more satisfied with their work and work more comfortably because of the social climate that exists in these modules. In order to achieve these two objectives, firstly, a bibliographical review was carried out to ascertain the theoretical support for this field of research and, subsequently, interviews were conducted with professionals in the area. The main conclusions drawn are that, in addition to their purely regimental functions, the internal staff of the Participation and Coexistence Modules have other functions related to the dynamics and functioning of the module itself, such as participation in the commissions and a greater relationship with the inmates. With regard to the hypothesis, it is confirmed that the way in which a Participation and Coexistence Module is managed generates an atmosphere in which the staff feel more at ease and are more satisfied with their work. This is relevant in terms of the quality of their work and what they can offer to the inmates.
