MODIFICATION OF WORKING CONDITIONS IN ITALY

Abstract

In this article the author explains the rules which in Italy govern the modification of working conditions. One of the central provision is Art. 2103 of the Civil Code, which protects the professional capabilities of the employees by forbidding in particular every kind of downgrading. However, this key provision has become increasingly controversial in time of crisis, and the Parliament is passing a bill to make it less strict and to increase the functional flexibility of the enterprises.
