El héroe mesiánico. Representación del arquetipo del outsider sacrificial en el cine norteamericano (1941-2008)

Abstract

Esta recensión trata de realizar una retrospectiva histórica que nos permita descubrir los puntos en común de la figura del héroe mesiánico a lo largo de la historia del cine. Es decir, cómo ese héroe sacrificial, tan habitual en el género del western, sigue presente, con múltiples rasgos comunes y coincidencias, en otras épocas y géneros muy distintos a los originales. En definitiva, se trata de establecer ciertas características del héroe crepuscular que se han ido manteniendo en todo tipo de obras fílmicas creando un nuevo arquetipo, distinto al clásico, que se convierte, según veremos, en un modelo transgénero y transepocal.This text intends to make a historical retrospective that will allow us to discover the essential points of the figure of the messianic hero throughout the history of cinema. That is to say, how the sacrificial hero, so common in the western’s genre, is still present in other eras and genres very different to the originals, with many common features and links. In short, we will try to establish certain features of the twilight hero that have been keeping in all kinds of filmic works, creating a new archetype, which differs from the classic, which becomes, as we shall see, in a transepocal and transgender model.
