  • dc.description.abstract Here we examine what we learn with the different typologies of industrialization (Clark, Hoffman, Rostow, Gerschenkron, Lewis, Chenery, Adelman, etc.) to understand the pitfalls, disappointments and successes of the Spanish industrialization of the eighteenth century. 21st century. There are indeed a number of positive and negative lessons. Out of these lessons – or their lack – for Spain, is considered here what the Spanish experience can teach us for the rest of the world. The Spanish experience has a lot to say about the experiences of industrialization in Latin America, the Middle East, Eastern Europe or China, as well as Southern Europe.
