Programació d’un complement per a programes de traducció assistida per ordinador

Abstract

Aquest projecte és una eina basada en el processament natural del llenguatge (NLP) com a complement als programes de traducció assistida per ordinador (TAO) dins l’àmbit de la lingüística computacional, per tal d'optimitzar la feina del traductor quant a la preparació del text prèvia a la traducció.Nowadays, in the field of computational linguistics, Natural Language Processing (NLP) is becoming increasingly useful as it plays an essential role in our society of multilingual information. In regard to Computer Assisted Translation (CAT), it is noteworthy that the goal of these tools is to support the translation process facilitating it with computer software. The main aim of this project has been to create a CAT tool‘s complement based on NLP in order to optimize the translator‘s work concerning the text‘s preparation before its translation, specially the basic information of the text, such as number of non-repeated words, and three specialized terminological glossaries. The methodology followed has been the development of computational strategies for each of the stages into which the program has been divided in the previous planning, and their implementation in the program with Python and Natural Language Toolkit‘s resources. Thus, the program could be considered as the result of both the project and the developed ability of applying the knowledge and work done previously during the degree to the fulfilment of the objectives. Finally, it should also be stated that this project has achieved its initial goals, since it provides the translator with a brief report about some aspects of the text than can be useful before translating it and three highly specialized glossaries ready to be translated and uploaded into a CAT tool.
