Traducción y análisis del libro infantil Massagran, de Josep Maria Folch i Torres

Abstract

El objeto de este trabajo es la traducción al castellano del libro infantil de Massagran. La novela fue escrita en 1913 por Josep Maria Folch i Torres, uno de los autores más representativos de la literatura infantil catalana. El trabajo pretende resolver y evitar los posibles errores causados por el contacto directo de las lenguas implicadas, castellano y catalán, dos lenguas que conviven en un mismo territorio. Desde un primer momento, se ha priorizado la conservación del contenido, el estilo y la intención del autor teniendo en cuenta el destinatario y la cultura meta. Con el fin de obtener un resultado satisfactorio, se han extraído las referencias culturales, la fraseología, los juegos de palabras y las marcas propias de la época en que fue escrito el libro, encontradas en el texto de partida durante el proceso de traducción y han sido analizadas detalladamente.

This paper provides a Spanish translation of the children’s book Massagran, written in 1913 by the Catalan author Josep Maria Folch i Torres, one of the most valuable writers of children’s literature from the time. Therefore, this book will be translated from Catalan into Spanish, two interrelated languages that coexist in Catalonia, which could suppose the appearance of linguistic interferences and calques. Based on this statement, this paper is focused on dealing with this aspect and trying to avoid the occurrence of mistakes related to the proximity between the languages implicated in the translation process. The main problem is to conserve the content, style and intention of the author taking into consideration the recipient and the target culture. To obtain satisfactory results, the cultural references, expressions, puns, and the distinctive characteristics of the era in which the book was written, which are found in the source text, will be extracted during the translation process and will be subsequently analysed.
