Abstract

This project is an integral study of the operation of a speaker from its design and construction. For this, the content is divided into different interrelated parts. The first of the chapters of the work consists of a theoretical framework that covers each of the fields of engineering involved in a loudspeaker: wave physics and its extension to acoustics, electronic engineering, signal processing, electrical analogies -mechanical-acoustic, engineering materials, etc. In the second part of the project the complete design of a speaker is elaborated from previous theoretical specifications and the design in question is simulated. During this part of the project the design and engineering part is highlighted, with special interest in the design process, problems and problem solving, always from an academic point of view and a form of research. Then, when the design and simulation process is completed, the construction process begins.Each of the processes that integrate this construction are emphasized, doing the documents as accurately as possible and emphasizing the problems that have arisen and the proposed solutions. Once the construction process is completed, as the final part of the model construction, the analysis and the test in which the resulting characteristics are extracted is performed and the best improvements are applied to approximate such characteristics to the plants as the objectives to start of the process . The closing of the project is a set of conclusions that cover each of the main problems that have arisen in the length of the project in the form of a summary, as well as a list of possible improvements in future designs and constructions. It should be noted that this project is not intended to give a complete professional explanation of the design and construction of loudspeakers, but rather to convey the process of discovery of different concepts and knowledge in the most explicit way possible for the use of the project as teaching material.
