Abstract

The research raised below analyzes, specially from a juridical standpoint, the textile factories from the 19th century as a new organizational way of the labour in the wake of the mid-century’s technological revolution, and its legal framework in the labour legislation till half of the 20th century. It is composed by a synthesis of the importance of the textile sector in Catalonia and, as a consequence, by the history and the beginning of the textile factories that settled down in Ter and Llobregat rivers. You will be able to see in detail how the labour relations were set up in these great factory plants, according to social issues such as child labour or the women's incorporation into the labour market.
