Curs 2023-2024Directora: Jelena Prokopljevic BugarskiThe Hong Kong-Guangdong-Macau Greater Bay Area is a relatively recent terms that refers to the merge of the Pearl River Delta region of China with the two adjacent Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau. Since the 1980s, this region has experienced an overwhelming urban development that has arguably changed landscape and identity of the region. This research focuses on the evolution of the region into what we know as the Greater Bay Area in order to understand the evolution of a regional identity and the articulation of a new city-region as a tool to articulate different competing global and non-global cities in the region. This study is done through a focus on the core cities described in the Outline Development Plan (ODP) as Hong Kong, Guagnzhou, Shenzhen and Macau.application/pdfengThis work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International LicenseTreball de fi de màster – Curs 2023-2024Articulation of the urban areas of the Greater Bay area’s regional identity in the context of global citiesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisGreater Bay AreaChinaGlobal cityCity-regionIdentityUrban studiesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess
