This has a clear implication in economic lexicon, which/npractically is created in English and afterwards is adopted into our language through/nvarious processes of lexical creation as the loanword, the literal translation or/nderivation. This paper has arisen from the observation of certain linguistic behavior/namong experts in the field of economics and finance in which an increasing trend in/nusing English terms instead of the Spanish equivalents can be observed. Thus, this paper/nis aimed to determine which are the motivations and scenarios in which this fact is/ndeveloped as well as the actual scope of this situation from a linguistic perspective. By/nmeans of a textual corpus of ten economic texts written in Spanish by specialists in/ndifferent blogs, we have provided examples that demonstrate the linguistic dependence/nof the English language. We have been able to determine through various scenarios in/nwhich economists face with this dependency that English implies several features and/nconditions which explain why English constructions prevail over Spanish most genuine/nexpressions. Eventually, this paper begs the question whether the presence of English is/nsuch that it could be considered another independent feature attached to economic/ndiscourse.
