Abstract

El propòsit d’aquesta tesi doctoral és aprofundir en l’estudi de la fonologia entonativa dialectal del català a partir de l’anàlisi experimental de diferents tipus de modalitats oracionals. Així doncs, d’una banda, pretén descriure la fonologia entonativa del valencià a través de l'anàlisi d'una enquesta de situacions completa que cobreix tota l'àrea dialectal. D’altra banda, la tesi pretén contribuir al coneixement de la realització prosòdica i gestual de dos tipus de preguntes absolutes amb diferent significat pragmàtic, les informatives i les que denoten incredulitat. Amb aquest objectiu, pretenem determinar, mitjançant experiments de producció i de percepció, quins són els trets prosòdics que actuen com a indicis acústics i visuals responsables de diferenciar una interrogativa absoluta informativa d’una interrogativa absoluta d’incredulitat
The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate the intonation phonology of Valencian Catalan through the experimental analysis of a variety of sentence-types. The first goal of the dissertation is to describe the intonational phonology of Valencian Catalan through the analysis of a questionaire which was administered throughout the dialect area. An additional goal of the dissertation is to contribute to the knowledge of the prosodic and gestural performance of two different types of yes/no questions with different pragmatic meanings, namely information-seeking questions and incredulity questions. Through production and perception experiments, the prosodic features that act as visual and acoustic cues to identify an information-seeking question and an incredulity yes/ no question were investigated and are reported on here.
