Abstract

En los últimos años, los países instan a que sus diásporas regresen e inviertan en su país de origen. Las diásporas ya no son una "fuga de cerebros", sino más bien un "capital humano". Ahora se crean políticas nacionales específicas para las diásporas en este sentido. En el caso de Madagascar, la política nacional ya está en marcha. Sin embargo, los miembros de la diáspora malgache siguen siendo ciudadanos desconocidos tanto para el estado malgache como para los académicos. A través de sus prácticas digitales, esta tesis busca contribuir a la ampliación del conocimiento de esta comunidad. Esta tesis se compone de tres artículos académicos que se centran en tres aspectos de sus prácticas digitales: sus sitios web (artículo 1), sus blogs (artículo 2) y sus grupos y páginas de Facebook (artículo 3). Esta tesis esboza los contornos de una comunidad poco estudiada cuyas impresiones demuestran la necesidad de un análisis más profundo.
In recent years, countries call for their diasporas to return and to invest at home. Diasporas are no longer gone-for-good ‘brain drain’ but rather ‘human capital’. Now specific national policies are created for diasporas in this sense. In the case of Madagascar, the national policy is now in place. Yet, the members of the Malagasy diaspora remain unknown citizens for both the Madagascan state and for scholars. Informed by their digital practices, this thesis seeks to contribute to the enlargement of the knowledge of this community. This thesis is composed of three academic papers that focus on three aspects of their digital practices: their websites (paper 1), their blogs (paper 2), and their Facebook groups and pages (paper 3). This thesis sketches the contours of an understudied community for which the impressions demonstrate a need for further analysis.
