La violencia en el deporte, sobre todo en las gradas de los estadios deportivos, es un problema de seguridad desde la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Los Estados, garantes de la seguridad de los ciudadanos, en colaboración con las federaciones deportivas tanto internacionales como nacionales y con los clubes deportivos, toman medidas cada vez más efectivas para solucionar este problema, que afecta tanto a los aficionados como a los deportistas.
