La Biblia en The Chronicles of Narnia: una propuesta de lectura mimético-pedagógica

Abstract

Las reformulaciones de la narrativa bíblica ocupan un lugar cada vez más preeminente en las representaciones literarias actuales. Bajo este supuesto, en la presente investigación se estudian las conexiones entre la Biblia y las Chronicles of Narnia de C.S. Lewis con objeto de exponer los motivos bíblicos que se replican en la saga fantástica. Con ello, se pretende demostrar que mediante la evocación ficcional de ciertos conceptos y conocimientos es posible aprehenderlos de manera más significativa. Ese aprendizaje se produce mediante el proceso mimético de representación de la realidad que sostiene Paul Ricoeur siguiendo la teoría aristotélica sobre la mímesis y la catarsis. Con éstos y por las conexiones eminentemente afectivas que se producen en el lector cuando reconoce algo que le han enseñado a conocer es por lo que nos atrevemos a proponer una lectura pedagógica de la saga. Así pues, superando el carácter general de una primera aproximación al texto, será posible observar una segunda lectura que trasciende los mecanismos alegóricos del texto superándolos a nivel potencial en lo que respecta a criterios que atienden al contenido de lo narrado, es decir, a realidades teológicas determinadas.

Reformulations of biblical narrative occupy an increasingly relevant place in the current literary representations. Under this assumption, this research attempts to show the connections between the Bible and C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia in order to explain the literary models of the Bible that are replicated in the saga. That seeks to demonstrate that through the fictional evocation of certain concepts they might be apprehended more significantly. That learning occurs through the process of mimetic representation of reality that Paul Ricoeur holds following the Aristotelian theory of mimesis and catharsis. With these and with the emotional connections that experiences the reader when he recognizes something that he has been taught to know it is why we dare to propose a pedagogical reading of the saga. Thus, exceeding an overall approach to the text, it will be possible to discover a second reading which will transcend its allegorical mechanisms responding to criteria such as the content of certain theological realities.
